The Murano's murrine mosaic bead

The 19th-century Venetian murrine’s beads, murrine is a polychrome coloured pattern well-known to collectors and researchers as “African trade beads”. These lampworked artefacts are created through a patient process, first forming a molten glass core on which slices of murrine cane are layered on top, then formed as desired. Murrine mosaic has various section pattern giving the beads the most astonishing appearance.
