Description

Venetian Beads, Venice, c.19th century. The 19th-century Venetian millefiori — murrine beads, well-known to collectors and researchers as “African trade beads”, are lampworked products with a wound base. In this rare case, the cores of beads are small and not visible on one end. The art on which this pearl is made starts forming a molten glass core on which slices of murrine cane layered on top. Murrine mosaic has various section pattern giving the beads the most stunning appearance.
